    This department is responsible for Telecommunication Technology on campus. This includes Computers; Computer Labs; The Network; Connections to the Internet; Web Servers, File Servers, Video Servers, and FTP Servers; Distance Learning; and Satellite Uplink and Downlink.

    Computer Services

    Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College makes the latest technology available to students. There are 5 labs setup for student use.

    Macintosh Lab

    All English writing classes are held in this lab as well as some Computer Science and Business classes. Internet, Desktop Publishing, and Web Editing courses are taught in this lab. This lab contains 30 Power PC G5s for class usage and 2 Power Pc G4s for instructor use. All computers are running the current operating system of OS X 10.3.5, with 1.6GHz, 1.25GB DDR SDRAM. The following applications are available to students:
    • Adobe PhotoShop (the BEST Photo editing software)
    • AppleWorks 6 (word processing, spreadsheet, database, drawing, presentation and painting software)
    • Camino (Web browser [Mozilla based])
    • Safari (Web browser)
    • FireFox (Web browser)
    • Internet Explorer 5 (Web browser)
    • Fetch 4.0.3 (FTP)
    • Microsoft Office 2004

    Windows Lab

    Computer Science, Business and some Music classes are held in this lab. Computer Science Programming, Machine Design, and Business Computing classes are taught in the lab. This lab contains 32 Compaq’s for student use, 10 of which have dedicated GIS Software on them. There is 1 Compaq for instructor use. These computers (other then the 10 dedicated to GIS) are running Windows XP, with CMT 3.0GHz Clock speed, 1 GB Ram. The 10 computers dedicated to GIS are running Windows 2000, with 2.2 GHz, 1 GB of Ram

    The following applications are available to students:

    • Microsoft Office XP (a popular word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software)
    • Microsoft Office 2000 (a popular word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software0
    • Borland C++ (Programming language)
    • Internet Explorer 6 (Web browser)
    • Firebird (Mozilla based)
    • Sunbird (Mozilla based calendar)
    • Thunderbird (Mozilla based e-mail)

    Center for Academic Achievement

    There are 11 workstations (5 Windows 2000, 5 iMac G3s, 1 PowerPC G4 all currently running OS X 10.3.5) in this lab available to students. All the applications in the main computer labs are available on these machines.

    Open Lab

    This lab is open for general student use during normal campus hours. This lab contains both MAC and Windows computers. There are 21 Power PC G5 computers running OS X 10.3.5. There are 21 Compaq computers running Windows XP. All the applications in the main computer labs are available on these machines.

    Dorm Lab

    For the housing students on campus there are 4 workstations available. This lab contains 2 imac G3s running OS X 10.3.5 and 2 Windows computers running Windows 2000. All the applications in the main computer labs are available on these machines.
