Student reading in the hallway in front of windowsAll Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College students have access to the resources and services of the Career Resource Center, located in the Student Services Department.

Information on career exploration, labor market information, transfer requirements and job search techniques are available. Individualized career counseling is provided by the college counselors.

Career Services and the Career Resource Center are managed and staffed by the counseling staff at the college. For more information, please contact the counselors in the Student Services area on campus.

On-Campus Resources
Students have access to several career planning and job seeking resources on campus. In addition to the Career Resource Center, current job postings from employers and agencies are maintained on bulletin boards on campus. General categories are posted on the main board near the campus Information Window. Law Enforcement, Nursing, Biological Sciences, and Geospatial Technologies openings are posted near the faculty and department office areas of the respective programs.

An annual Employer Job Fair is held on campus each Spring. More than 50 employers and hiring agencies are present to meet with students regarding current job availability and the type of training and education required. Students are encouraged to participate and treat this event as an opportunity to make a good first impression with a prospective employer.

Periodic seminars and lunchtime sessions are offered on topics such as interviewing tips, resume building, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), utilizing online resources, and career inventories. These are free events and the schedule is posted on campus.

The annual Law Enforcement Career Expo is held each Spring. Approximately 40 jurisdictions and agencies are represented each year.

The GPS LifePlan helps students set goals and design plans that will lead them to the success they desire.

The Minnesota Career Information System (MCIS) is an easy to use, internet-based system that provides information about occupations and employment, including labor market information, education and training, scholarships and financial aid, and career assessments. MCIS is password protected, students need to contact a counselor to get a username and password.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. The Handbook is revised every two years.

For students planning to transfer to another institution after attending Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, it is important to plan ahead. Information is available from the counselors and advisors regarding college transfer and making the process as smooth as possible. Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor or counselor when planning to transfer to another college or university. In addition, representatives from many colleges visit Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College during the academic year to provide information and answer specific questions regarding transer in to their institutions.
