Instructor helping 2 students.The Center for Academic Achievement assists students with the challenges of college course work. Current Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College students have access to professional and peer tutoring at no cost. Assistance is offered for building successful study habits, test-taking skills, and time management. The Center for Academic Achievement is located in the west wing of the building.

The Center for Academic Achievement has a staff of professional and peer tutors. Peer tutors are recommended by instructors and have been successful in the course for which they tutor. Professional tutors hold a college degree. Students can arrange for free, individual tutoring by completing a Center for Academic Achievement tutor request form. Forms are available in the Center for Academic Achievement.

Study groups are offered each semester for a variety of courses. Students interested in a study group for a course should contact the Center for Academic Achievement Coordinator.

Windows and Macintosh computers are available for student use in the Center for Academic Achievement. Students unsure of how to word process, access an online course, or use a computer program that is required for a course can seek individual assistance by completing a Center for Academic Achievement tutor request form.

Instructor assisting a student.Students are encouraged to use the Center for Academic Achievement for personal and small group study. The Center for Academic Achievement is equipped with a wide variety of textbooks and reference materials that are available for student use.

The Center for Academic Achievement provides services for make-up testing and alternative testing situations. Testing is proctored using directions provided by the course instructor. The Center for Academic Achievement offers a separate, large testing space, which allows students to take tests in a quiet area.

Instructors may choose to use the Center for Academic Achievement to secure videotapes, audio tapes, DVDs, answer keys, workbooks, or study guides for student use. All materials are available upon request.
